E-FOTA brings firmware management capabilities to MaaS360. This feature allows the IT to manage firmware updates installed on the Samsung devices. Previously, all the devices received firmware update as soon as they are available on the Play Store, without IT having any control over it. On top of that, the unplanned firmware updates would sometimes break the enterprise apps due to compatibility issues.
MaaS360 integrates E-FOTA to overcome the challenges associated with firmware updates. With E-FOTA, IT can pre-test the firmware update against the enterprise apps before rolling it out to the devices. This solution also ensures that all the devices in a team run a same and stable firmware version which is compatible with the enterprise apps.
