Impact for the device if it becomes unassigned from an MDM server

Hello!
I planing to unassign lot of devices via Apple School Manager previously assigned to Meraki MDM server. If a device becomes unassigned it continues to operate without being reset directly. Correct?

Hi Lund,

Correct there will be no direct impact to the devices that you have unassigned. Only impact would be if a device was factory reset while it was not assigned to a MDM server:

  1. Device will not be enrolled in an MDM resulting in loss of control of the device
  2. As well as loss of control of the device it will also not be supervised
